Well, Chris Burden, L.A. artist known for performance pieces like being crucified on a Volkswagon bug, being shot, and lying in a trashbag beside a busy freeway has a sculpture up at Rockefeller Center. It's called "What my father gave me" and is comprised entirely of erector sets. I don't know what he's up to really, but here's a photo anyway.
